I saw her naked...

I saw her naked and bleeding

Was it delusion or reality?

I don't discern.

The wolves trapped her on the brook,

Kindness shunned their heart and faith.

But, I saw her in clothes;

I saw her playing and dancing,

On the festive time.

Demons tore her clothes apart,

The barbarians wrapped her in red cloth.

They are soft shields like moccasins

and flashy body put on show,

In the streets and colonies,

In the combat vehicles and barracks,

Her mother cried and pleaded, holding her picture.

I was so sad,

I penned a poem from her tears and blood,

Coloured it with petals of dry flowers,

The vultures laugh at her naked body,

Blackguards jump, and the brute applaud and glitter to each other.

One bomber holds out by her locks while the other pushes off

Stare her now and then for the game,

The pitiable woman dancing and happy a moment ago,

The curl German woman dances with her beauty on cheery land,

The death-men lean on her naked body, triumphant.

The reporter scrolls pen rapidly over the note-book,

The assassin is lettering with guns and deaths,

The desperado killer jogs in the joyous park,

The fanatic counts his prey, the radical polishes his gun,

The goon beats time for the band and all the assassins follow him.

The bombers are baptized, the converts are performing their main professions,

The regatta is spread on the theatre park, the battle is begun,

The drover watching his herd carnage out to them that would be lost,

The dealer carts with his pack on his back,

Dancing Shani Louk unaware of all, landed a caged fowl.

N.B.: Shani Louk is believed to be the woman paraded naked around Gaza and later on killed by Hamas terrorists chanting Allahu Akbar. She had been attending an outdoor music festival near Kibbutz Urim, Israel, when Hamas terrorists attacked the festival area.

The film is Dead- Long Live the Hero

A frenzy has been created by the media around Shah Rukh Khan and his 'Jawan.' Much before the release of the film in the theatre-- eyes hazy, heart satisfied, choked, and distrustful a new thought was stitched--to podcast the mind to show the nation is comfortable with these ugly films. This new brand of hero worship has slaughtered the cinema as an art. There is nothing new, disjointed, burly, artefact in this that is now being perfumed. These movies are made on incoherence, spicy, declared as relics which are glorified themes in movies.

'Jawan', 'Pathan', 'Chennai Express', 'Dabang', 'Three Idiots', 'PK', 'Raees', 'Ghajini',  etc are sculpted as art-dominating camps inhabiting the false spirit of Robin Hood vigilante pickpocketing the viewers' money.  They are just like weapon manufacturers who kill millions of people and pollute the environment but donate some money to NGOs to build hospitals. Female characters are completely sidelined. No film has been able to shun the testosterone trap. This is a very dark period for actresses in Bollywood just like dark ages of invaders.

Like Atlee's earlier movie 'Bigil' the gauchely dressed hero is surrounded by an army of scantily dressed women, the women deliver the traumatic flavour, and the hero thrashes it into catharsis and suddenly comes to terms with his past. The same hot dish is served cold in 'Jawan.'

Viewers walk out of the theatre with heavy heads and the feeling of seeing many old films stuffed into one. Scenes do not travel so much, as to jump into a different realm, a new sub-plot, another public topic, another bit of trauma alchemized as new feed. The flashback, a regularly copied tool in the films, dispensed toolkit, used one after another, presents the past as a mishmash. 'Pathan' failed to give secular credentials to the mess of Bollywood or a new boost to life.

Now, heroism is roaring in Bollywood with the Khan group. One of the many features is a celebration of their presence and over-acting. The action highlights endless quarks of punches and pulls. The setting dips into hideous, sour and over-drenched shades of insipidness. The joy is artificially created to charm the film hero, resisted and depicted.

However, the elements that pushed that heroism, like the unstable gallows of the storyline between the super-display of their muscle and velour. To travel through 'Jawan' or 'Pathan' is to bang about, the smoothness of the highway, slashed by the occurrence of car-sick speed breakers for a sick man. There is now a name for such films. It has become a type -- 'hero-worship'.

This hero-worship, mass cinema is a tasteless distillation of old 'masala cinema' an important variety of Indian cinema. According to famous film critic Rangan Bharadwaj, "these big highlights that would be built up have now become the highlights of the movie" -- 'the mass movie.'

Unresponsive to tale link, and character chain, the plot jumps the one listed vista to the next as if on a trampoline. The mass movie is exclusive to please the irrational fan's fidelity, devoid of any wise and tasteful pretence of being a thought-provoking film. A  "mass movie" cannot be considered a genre. Genre consists of the proper disposition of a film, its quality, and its tropes while these elements have been developed over time, through sublimity of a performer's inherent merit tricked as the taste of the audience, popcorn and cafeteria in hand, disregarding that is supposed to be very object being looked at.

The semantics do not express anything about the movie but only the collection and audience in mind--the mass, all recall. It is called by critics "post-modern" that is to deliver every postulation unlikely to disembowel the conviction we held about what a "movie is." It takes the proper design of cinemas and strikes it to a position where nobody can understand it.  It is almost impossible to accept 'Jawan' or 'Pathan' or "PK' a film because they have more foolhardy ideas--to demolish the very concept of cinema, raising themselves as a "mass movie" movie those are not movies. They are just assembling incongruous ideas.

This is an archetypal move in denigration. To view something in the theatre, the very idea of "art" -- in these cases, distorting the mass movie --- and to turn that thread into a genre, folds it into cinema because one can criticize a film and not a genre. Particularly if the genre is derivative from psychology of the drama, the aspirations, and desires of the 'common man', the "mass movie."

To cut the criticism of a film, the failure of the viewers to welcome it is now postured as your failure to take pleasure in a very exact genre. The onus is not on the producers but on the viewers. The big question is, can the makers handle the mass film? Nobody dares to say "yes."

Fake and phony titles are given to shallow acting like King, Shanshah, Dabang, Mr. Perfect, Khiladi Kumar, Chote Nawab etc. Most of such labels are bizarre and the viewers simply laugh. In the words of noted critic Hal Fostel, "an awkward term for a common move in criticism, the inflating of a characteristic into a criterion... adjectives becomes nouns and attributes becomes values,"  There is no film anymore, there is only fake stardom.

Language diary

You can travel to any state in South India - Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, free to speak in Hindi or any other language and not in Tamil Nadu but even in the presence of Tamils, none will be frowned upon or ridiculed, abused or manhandled by the highly cultured and civilized, Tamils or south Indians. It is better to make judgments based on firsthand experience rather than believe "fake news" that is fabricated by those "leaders" having evil intentions and agenda. One can make frequent trips to TN and other south Indian states and speak any language, nobody is bothered.

Anti-Hindi leaders try to pinch the bottom. When asked to learn Hindi, they instigate the people to come to streets. Agitators took to streets against the so-called Hindi imposition. (i.e. they don't understand Hindi). Even during the last seven decades of India's independence, there is no instance of Hindi imposition on any state. Instead, strong regional languages are killing other less powerful regional languages and dialects.

Even a Tamil or Malayali or Bengali or Telgu or Kannada would get packed down if he indulges in such 'pastimes'. Most people(not all) hailing from any parts of our country do the same thing in buses and trains in Islamic and African nations and end up with less teeth and more bones. Now, same chauvinism has reached in Canada, Australia and Africa due to Khalistani mischief mongers.

Hundreds of thousands of Indian pilgrims and tourists go to South India and North India every year and return with fond memories. Language has never been a problem for North Indians in the south and South Indians in the north. This does not prevent Hindi speakers from travelling to South India and vice versa and re-transmitting the message of love and friendship overcoming all obstacles. It is clear to understand that this barrier is created by leaders. Sanskrit is the accepted Dev Bhasha of all the Sanatan Dharma regardless of region.

Hindi had not become the spoken language in any part of the Akhand Bharat in the earlier half of the eighth century. In the first half of the eighth century, Hindi was not yet a language anywhere in Akhand Bharat. At that time, Adi Shankaracharya was traveling on foot from Kalady in Kerala to Srinagar/ Barinath/ Kedarnath. But language was not a barrier at that time. Be wary of fake hype and propaganda. They are to be taken not with a pinch or bucketful of salt but with a "truckload of salt".

This is just like the agenda media that declared Delhi as rape capital of the world. Media should also conduct research to find out which forces were behind the notorious declaration about Delhi as notorious the world over as the rape capital of the world.

People need to tidy their homes before making false accusations, because lies and fabricated intolerance stemming from not even realizing that someone who speaks differently and far from the truth lives in this country and they all live in peace. Most people have a good relationship and are not interested in their language.

It is high time the residents of the country should the mindset which makes them believe that every woman other than his wife, mother and sister is a resident of 'Kapaali Bazaar '.

India is a bouquet not only of roses but of roses, marigolds and lilies. The "Divide and rule" policy yields political gains in the short run but may harm the health of the nation in the long run. Sri Lanka's Sinhala-speaking majority was impressed by Rajapaksa's harsh anti-Tamil rhetoric, which has given him a landslide victory over the past few years. Where is he now? The same thing had happened before in Pakistan and Bangladesh was created by forcing the Urdu language.

There are many Indians living in South India and South Indians living in North India. Many North Indians are working in IT field in Bangalore. Typically, 30 to 50%of the employees in an IT company are North Indian. Professionals in North India will not face any language problems as the staff of the IT company can only speak English. Many North Indians prefer to live in areas where Hindi is not dominant and where language is less of an issue. In fact, many North Indians live in this fizz where none is bilingual in Hindi and Kannada and think that entire Karnataka is like that. They go to predominantly Hindu areas in other parts of the state and politely try to understand their language.

They never accept that they reply to their queries in Hindi. They never get angry, abuse and make fun of the locals and their language. Kannadigas who are, by nature, gentle and peace loving, comfortably live with such people. However, politicians frown upon this tolerance of the locals is often stretched to the limits and they wish that people react as aggressively as their some brothers in neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

Old timers who chose sylvan Bangalore to spend the evening of their lives are a blissful lot. They recall how the culture of the city changed with the huge influx of the loud mouthed but jolly and affectionate people from the northern states. An elderly Bangalorean summed it up, "Bangalore is not dying but born. However, it is no longer the naturally air conditioned Shangri La it once was".

NEP 2020 and Language

As we ponder and implement NEP 2020, the question of identity, culture, ethnicity, language, education and time-tested and research-based shreds of evidence formulates one aspect clear that teaching students in their mother tongue makes them much more comfortable and sharp than teaching them in any other language. however, UNESCO data confirms that around 40% of worldwide learners are educated in a language other than their mother tongue.

This leads to numerous problems. Students face setbacks and other social and educational hiccups. To address this issue, the government of India, through NEP 2020 took the revolutionary decision of giving education in the mother tongue. So Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) ordering to use the mother tongue for teaching is a needed and admirable move.

Singapore, Thailand, China, Israel, China, Taiwan, Japan etc got independence almost with India. However, their education system is much better than the Indian education system. One of the most important reasons for this high standard is teaching in mother tongues.

Thomas Macaulay loathed India and the Indian education system and created a new English education system to produce a class to help the British govern and control India and the Indians. This was Indian in colour and blood but British in morals, opinions, taste and style. They were more British and less Indian. That was the metamorphosis, the English language brought into the lives of Indians.

Noticing this fall, Gandhiji and some other nationalist leaders expressed their deep distress over English education. Not only this, they realised that the English language is creating a deep divide and inequality between English-educated and non-English-educated people. This English has crippled the educated class mentally prejudiced and wounded, morally clumsy and disconnected from their land, society, culture and families. In other words, they are less patriotic and ready to leave their motherland, kith and kin at the first opportunity.

Nationalist leaders like Purshottam Das Tandon, C. Rajagopalachari, Govind Ballabh Pant, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Annie Besant, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, etc understood the negative impact of English on Indians. These leaders and freedom fighters not only have a brilliant understanding of the people and culture of India but also its fabulous spiritual and literary heritage. They supported early education in Hindi or their tongue and English as a second language.

Interestedly leaders like Nehru, Ambedkar, Seth Govind Das, Abul Kalam Azad, T.T. Krishnamachari, and E.V. Ramaswamy (Periyar), advocated English. Now, it is a well-known fact that education in the mother tongue is highly beneficial for children. UNESCO, through its Global Monitoring Education report, has supported early education in the mother tongue. Mother tongue-based bilingual schooling is much more useful than any other language for pedagogical grounds.

There is a big delusion in India, that without good English, one cannot get a good job. They are made to believe that education in the mother tongue deprives students of a good career. However, researchers have different opinions. Students with their mother tongue at the schooling medium found it very easy to master English later. When students learn English or any other second language later in their career, the skills learnt while being trained in their mother tongue can be used.

Research at the University of Ontario and on Latin American-origin learners found that proficiency in English is directly related to the teachings of English at the school level. The students who have early education in their mother tongue were found better in English than those who have been introduced to English at the school level.

In India, school education has given birth to many educational and social problems. Education in a language other than the mother tongue has dropped the literacy rate by 18% to 20%. The college dropout rate is increased by 20% to 22%. It is high time that policymakers must renounce the idea that English education is essential for the career growth and progress of the nation.

English-educated people in India are seen as very self-centred. Getting and chance, Convent educated and English medium learners are always ready to leave their families and the nation. They also found lacking in nationalism and family ties. Senior citizens can be seen living alone and their children settled abroad. This is the biggest reward of English medium education.

Apart from benefits, education in the mother tongue is a fundamental right of every child. Teachings in the mother tongue also lead to the upliftment of cultural, spiritual and value systems. Such education can strengthen society and the nation. So the NEP and CBSE policymakers should follow up on admissions, teacher recruitment, curriculum expansion and development and teaching material to cater for the need of Indian language students.

The Indian Education system is hijacked by English Education. Those methods represented in the past the value, culture and ethos are to be recaptured to enable students to focus towards free-thinking, rational approach, nationalism culture and value system. The nasty ghost of Maucauly went so deep into the psyche of Indian Elites and the policymakers that they could not visualize that the soul of their country has been mortgaged with the mortal and suicidal darkness.

A tale of urban decay

Plunder story without any problem in any city..." The big story is that reflections on disaster and dreadfulness stories are true to all the cities where most of the people rush to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams in the 21st century Nalanda, Hampi and Taxila.

These cities inescapably ellipsis in every country where ellipsing is a reaction edifying and economic pattern juggles up ideas of the forward-looking calculating artificially, dress-down super-rich tech expert, stylish nerd, eye pulling ultra luxurious restaurants with fabulous dishes on their carte du jour, and, for those with a political-sociological bent of wits, a fabulous unruffled artificially liberal-tolerant ridge, an inheritance of ages the cities were the worldwide epicenter of thriving supremacists.

Now cities are the placard examples of urban decay in India and other parts of the world. Media is flooded with detailed stories of city rots, a pandemic of street crimes, use of narcotics and drugs, shabbily dressed and zombie-like drugs and sex addicts but pretend to be liberal, tolerant, cool secular and modern, empty ghostly malls and old buildings and a flood of people staring for freebies and generosities.

Millions and billions of people are addicted to narcotics and drugs to get short-lived but splendid highs. Children boost and introduce their sex partners without any shame and nervousness. Children come home after narcotic and drug sessions. They feel pride to rebel against their parents and seniors.

When the space is encroached by a drug-crime and encroachment problems. The justice system is almost non-functional or kind to wrong-doers, affluent, white-collar cool citizens, and business class try to leave the place and the number of worthless freeloaders, beggars, drug addicts, criminals etc swell.

Branded food stores are shut. Luxury retail chains also try to flee. Businesses try to find new addresses. After March 2020, when the Covid lock-down hit the world, cities suffered the most. However, the tendency and attraction of freeloading benefits crossed all the limits.

Pandemic-period remote work system got acceptance, and the office buildings, railway land, temple land, public land and parking spaces and vacant land were encroached on by illegal migrants and intruders. This system pushed many working people out of the system. Some left for their native places. Thomas Hardy's "The Return of the Native" type story.

All this did not stop the march of ruthless slayers. The unstoppable march of illegal intruders, criminals and land grabbers and authorities and the helpless police due to much-hyped human rights and their peddlers, soft and lethargic justice system give immense power to these nihilist bosses. For them, poverty, backwardness, illiteracy and incompetency are status symbols to boast with pride and fanfare.

All are worried and scared of this urban rot. However, the worry is only limited to the drawing room chat. Nationalist right-wingers are haunted and bullied by the judiciary, right activists, and left-winger toolkit branded as inclusive liberal and tolerant. The celebrated liberals blame the inequalities, the meritorious hard-working class and the political and social system of rich and poor divide and gap. In return, they advocates more free-loading schemes, goodbye to merit and talent to give employment to these huge vote banks.

The urban decay is like 'Cocktown' of "The Hard Times" by Charles Dickens.

Manipur violence: Violence for unlawful trade and benefits

The recent violence in Manipur has its roots in an over-a-decade-old demand by the Meitei Hindus for a Scheduled Tribe category. Manipur High Court also supported this demand and directed the Union Tribal Ministry to give ST tag to the Meitei community. Before the merger with the Indian Union, the community enjoyed the ST tag.

Against this order, on May 3, Kuki tribals organised a very aggressive solidarity march in which provocative slogans were raised. Meitei also organised counter-protests. These resulted in clashes and violence. Kuki used women and children as shields to stop or chase away the security forces.

Through the newspaper reports and the people who have also served in Manipur and know the ground realities quite well, one can safely say about the conflict in Manipur is not between Manipuri Hindus and Christians.  it is an attempt made by the powerful foreign-aided Christian Church, Christian missionaries and anti-Hindu toolkit and ecosystem to defame the Hindus and the nation and send a false message to the West that Christians are being massacred in cold blood. This propaganda is only one of the tactics employed by them on the path towards their end.

According to General M M Naravane (retd), involvement of  foreign agencies "cannot be ruled out." China and Myanmar have been fueling the violence and the insurgencies in the northeast. illegal intruders from Bangladesh and Rohingya Muslims are also responsible for the escalation of violence.

The Church and the Christian missionaries have been systematically converting tribals in large numbers by luring them in a variety of ways -supplying liquor and money, building houses and providing education to their children in Christian convent schools. A recent alarming development is the involvement of the Church in arming the Kukis with smuggled Chinese arms, in their fight with Meitei Hindus in the light of the HC order on granting ST status to Hindu Meiteis. Christian Kukis want to grab all the benefits and reservation.

Drug trafficking, smuggling of narcotics and poppy cultivation have been major problems in the northeast states. Opposition leaders wanted an issue to dilute the bad name after the Bengal violence, foreign countries and the press want to bludgeon Brand Modi, NGOs and other bodies that have had either the authorization to get foreign funds/donations or their registration cancelled or left-oriented academics and 'Khan Market Gang' of media wanted a space. So tragic violence of Manipur soothed their deprived ambition.

The successive Central Governments are to be blamed for not doing anything for the sizeable Hindu population in Manipur. They always kept on appeasing the Christian missionaries and foreign-funded NGOs. The attitude of the Central government and its officers posted there have alienated both Hindus and Christians in Manipur.

The Hindi-speaking officers posted from North India behave as if they are the real masters/Indians and that Manipuri speakers are less Indian and are destined to serve the real masters/ Indians. It is this condescending attitude of North Indian politicians and bureaucrats which created resentment among Hindus in the North East. They are also doing the same in the Hindu majority states of South India and also in the Hindu kingdom of Nepal.

This resentment has made conversions easier for the missionaries. Due to this attitude, the missionaries have been successful in turning Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya into Christian-majority states. The Christian population in Manipur has grown to 42%. Conversions on a large scale are taking place among tribes in Arunachal and in the Bodo-dominated areas of Assam too.

The present violence in Manipur is fuelled by the Christian clergies to succeed in their first step - carving a Christian majority state out of Manipur by including the hilly areas of the state. The divisive and tactful strategy of the Christian missionaries is to wait and watch till the whole of the North East turns into a Christian-majority region. They will then, with the help of their Western counterparts, play the victim card like the Muslims in various international forums and demand the creation of a separate country for Christians encompassing the entire North East. The riots in Manipur are only the beginning of a well-planned/long-term strategy. They are following the calculated method that the Muslims and Jinnah adopted in 1947.

The cultivation of narcotics is a big source of income for these Kuki Christians. They are very well supported by the Church and the Christian missionaries in this narcotics cultivation. Narcotics cultivation and trade, massive intrusion of Kuki Christians from Myanmar, the tension of native Meiteis about the encroachments on their land and other resources by the Kukis, mass conversion by the Christian missionaries toolkit and ecosystem and other intruders are major issues for the unrest and violence.

Quotas: A method less madness

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in't."

(Hamlet, Polonius, Act 2 Scene 2)

This very famous quote from Shakespeare is very suitable for the present situation in Manipur. Earlier people used to fight for the nation and the religion, but now they are fighting for quotas.

Quotas have been a big apple for Discord. All rush to the streets to fight and grab for the quotas. It is impossible to please all the caste and religious groups fighting or grabbing quotas.

Hundreds of people have died in communal violence for the quotas. Scores of private buildings, government offices, and cars have been burnt down. There is fear and violence everywhere. Claiming that reservation for Meiteis goes against the interests of Kukies. They claimed that they stand to safeguard our crucial, inseparable and traditional rights. The court judgment is in direct conflict with the will and ambitions of the Kuki people.

Resenting the reservation for Kukies goes against the traditional affirmative justice pattern, Meiteis have been opposing this type of reservation. They have been agitating for a long to demand reservations. They were insisting on special provisions for reservation. Not only this, Kukies can buy the land of Meiteis but Meities cannot buy the land of Kukies. There is resentment against this unfair law.

The crisis over reservation has also brought to the forefront an unpleasant truth that many tribal societies in the Northeast, particularly the Meiteis have been ignored. Meiteis want reservation and equality. There are hundreds of castes and tribes in the region like Meiteis and the degree of one-sided empowerment of some tribes only.

The Meitieis are highly peaceful people. They are very honest and clear on one point: that there should be equality and peace in the state. So they are vehement that they should get equal opportunity and reservation like the Kuki tribe. Facing unprecedented backlash, N. Biren Singh eventually softened to the suggestion/judgment of Guwahati High. He almost decided to demand from the Meite community an amendment to the reservation rules.

Kuki people opposed this fiercely. For now, though, the fight for equal representation for the Meite community is in limbo. Violence has forced them to ignore the demand to give reservations to the Meite community. Maity activists will continue to "speak for the voiceless", and emboldened by the Guwahati high court ruling. But Kuki, always fighting for their upper hand very aggressively from the hills.

Going to any lengths to retain it -will have both their resolve and conviction tested like never before as they battle for their rights against Meite.

There was a time when the bureaucracy in Manipur was the monopoly of Bengalis who migrated from Sylhet in Bangladesh who made Manipur their home but kept aloof from the local population mainly the Meiteis and condescendingly behaved with them. They went to the extent of replacing the Meitei script with the Bengali script. This created resentment among the peace-loving Vaishnavite Meiteis. The Meiteis have all along been fighting for the revival of their ancient language which has a rich literary history dating back to 1400 BC. The general feeling was that their ancient language was on its way to a slow death due to the imposition of the Bengali language.

The Meitei Hindus expected a change for the better with the change of government in the state and the centre. They were disappointed when the BJP government turned a deaf ear to their long-standing demand and added fuel to the fire by giving preference to Hindi in schools. People there believe that Bengali chauvinism has been replaced by Hindi chauvinism. Similar was the case in Punjab. The Khalistan movement was a creation of the appeasement by the then Congress governments to the unreasonable demands of the Sikhs. The funds came from overseas Punjabis and Chinese arms came from Pakistan.

It is the same language issue that resulted in the BJP losing the battle in Karnataka recently. The BJP central leadership would do well to understand that no one is opposed to Hindi. The opposition is to Hindi imposition. The imposition of one language in a country as linguistically diverse as others will not guarantee unity. India is a strange nation where the majority community is persecuted by the minority communities. Kashmir, the Punjab, Bengal, Kerala and now Manipur, Meiteis by Kukies.

Urdu imposition in Pakistan resulted in the birth of Bangladesh. What the Sinhala imposition  did to Sri Lanka is there for all to see. Wisdom is not wisdom if it dawns late. "Those that fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it." - said Winston Churchill in a 1948 speech to the British House of Commons.

Aimless rush for degrees and certificates

Schools, colleges, universities, parents, students, governments etc all are busy in strange manipulation and rush- to distribute certificates and degrees. This is also a well-known reality that almost 90% of these certificates and degrees holders never get anything from these certificates and degrees. Now, the HRD ministry and other educational experts should guide honestly to stop undue rush for the certificates and degrees in the country. They should face the truth, howsoever unattractive it may appear, which is uncommon in education system building rounds, but it is a very important and very necessary first stair in the reform of employment and livelihood goals.

Although such advice may disturb the current school and college goers, it is very correct to leave the mad chase of certificates and degrees analytically casing all levels of learning and chasing the large scale pressure and artificial collection of certificates and degrees without knowledge and skills by artificial methods in the exams, which boosts a pretence of attainment and success rate.

Now, it is a well-known fact that exams and evaluations are just a formality. Even, very poor students are high achievers in the exams and evaluations. These fake achievements give artificial pride to ignorant learners. There are examples that at many exam centres, not a single case of unfair means in exams is caught and reported for decades. This seems to be very unreal in a country where almost honesty is an endangered thing. Teachers and evaluators either help or ignore the cheaters.

Second, boards and universities inexplicably inflate the marks and arbitrarily inflate the percentage or grades. In some universities and boards, parents and students sit in 'dharna' (sit-ins) and all the students were prompted to appease them. Similarly, minority institutions are very liberal to their community students in granting marks. All this manipulation and inflation of marks and grades must be stopped to foster trust in the certificates and degrees. Now, certificates and degrees have lost all shin and relevance.

Examinations and evaluations are superb junctures to improve the quality of education in the country and filter away weak students from the campuses and make institutions and teachers accountable. The authorities must make it mandatory for every teacher to catch and report at least one case of cheating in the exam or evaluation each semester to get an annual salary increment and future promotions. This method will stop cheating in exams and evaluations. This will ensure the quality of the certificates and degrees. Parents can also be helped and counselled to shift their wards to some skill training or self-work if he is found lacking in studies. The boards and the universities can be commended for holding the decisive idea that sharing real worth will empower parents to understand the level of their ward.

Providing parents with information on the ward's standard is an important plank of education documents in most of the educationally higher nations. However, in India, this system is missing or inefficient. Here, institutions simply publish the annual marks/grades based on the fakery of exams and evaluation. In the absence of such institutional feedback about actual and honest student performance, parents have no idea to judge the standard of their ward based on gossip and physical but unreal report card which are inadequate and misleading indicators of student standards.

Sharing actual information with parents about the academic standard of their ward in the school/college introduces an element of reality about the ward, guiding the parents about future options.  Unless it is in the parents' knowledge how their ward is performing, they have many options to think about his learning-employment career.

The feedback by the teachers contains much valuable hidden information for the parents too, and it can be utilised to identify - low-performing students, their weaknesses, their interest, and pressures, for remedial initiatives for specific students. Examinations are not real indicators due to manipulations.

Many countries have very effective and useful parent-teacher meetings. With NEP, exam reforms are also very important and very necessary. But, this aspect has been ignored. Due to the non-seriousness of the teachers and authorities, almost 100% of students pass and exam results are no more real reflectors of the performance of any student. However, from the beginning of the 21st century onwards, the Indian government's education department's emphasis was to pass the students and not on quality education.

The official initiative was not good for the nation and was not nationally welcomed and the government initiated a draconian No-Detention-System. But a couple of years later, the performance of the students fell drastically. Even though all were high achievers, they were not employable. Several studies indicate that reforms were responsible for growing cases of suicides, depression, stress, mental illness, dejection, hopelessness etc. Even the pass-outs of the best of the institutions like IITs, IIMs, AIIMSs, DU etc are still completely dependent on government jobs only. They have neither any skills nor courage to start any self-work. Educational institutes should produce leaders and not job beggars.

The main resistance comes from teacher unions, who instigate the people and argue in the name of social justice that socio-economic backgrounds are responsible for poor performance. However, institutional rankings do not benefit the students. Academic rankings do not help the students in any manner. On so many parameters such as learner satisfaction levels, honesty in exams and evaluations, faculty appointments, promotions, salary levels, employability of the degrees and students etc there is total silence.

The ranking published by some government institutions and magazines is compiled on the observation by a sample of principals, teachers, students and parents who have nothing to with the real and practical parameters like learner satisfaction levels, honesty in exams and evaluations, faculty appointments, promotions, salary levels, employability of the degrees and students etc. However, all the rankings ignore the perception-based 'academic reputation' scores and the actual and honest academic performance of students.

Therefore education policymakers and exam and evaluation boards need to consider the actual performance of the students in external and internal exams to assist the parents and the employers to prepare them for open competition, control cheating in exams and evaluation and thus improve the level of students.

Much ado about Pathan supremacist

A much hyped and controversial film, featuring Shah Rukh Khan after his four flop years, Pathan is a super marked artificial thriller that shows SRK as over-rated and true to the hyped entertainer. Immature in a story, Pathan is a much ado about nothing story which is using all tricks for footing.

The film opens with pro-Pakistan sentiments. The plot shows India's scrapping of controversial and draconian article 370 and its reaction to a Pakistani officer; who wants to harm and damage India for this bold 'mistake'. He meets daunting Jim, an Indian Ex-Raw agent who feels dodgy by his people. RAW is shown as bad and ISI is good. He is joined by stunning confederate Rubai an ex-ISI agent (Deepika Padukone) with pushy designs.

Shockingly, the story begins by giving prominence to the anger of Pakistan on scrapping Article 370 in an Indian movie. Moreover, an officer of coveted RAW has been portrayed as a traitor.  This is a very wrong narrative.

Entry of SRK or Pathan is very poor and repulsive. Pathan, Jim and Rubai twist eyes and minds, as they leap continents and indulge in perilous theatrics of fraud and retribution. All three compete to raze other's world and secure their own. Over-acting of SRK is clearly visible.

Director Siddharth Anand gives his best to his spy thriller and failed to hide the over-action. He presents super-hero type unbelievable actions. He is fascinated by the hero-worship-type marvel of Hollywood blockbusters in a very open manner. Fabricated action and chase string, Spiderman-type wingsuits, death and gravity horrid stunts on bikes, cars, ice, helicopters and above all in the air look very artificial just like video games. Toy weapons are used. Eternal heroes and villains uttering towering dialogues, in-adequately dressed woman-all dumped together in the hyped idea of patriotism.

The director and the story aim to show Shah Rukh Khan as a superhero to safeguard his dwindling fortune with the help of actions beating emotion and romance. Only time will tell how he lets his thin body do the 'action' roles in those fading glory of the late fifties. The entire action and story move around him otherwise in an ordinary masala story. The story rotates around Pathan and tried to show him as a Pathan supremacist; a caste of Muslims. It seems, to show SRK as a super-star with the help of modern gadgets, a virtual world, meta verse, artificial intelligence, smart-phone, satellite phone, jetpack, multi-layered balls, high-end cars and choppers, advanced rockets and other modus operandi etc been used excessively.

In the film, the barbaric Taliban is shown as a victim of America. Similarly, all the cast are kind to Pakistan. This is a very wrong narrative. Vishal & Shekhar tried their best to highlight the hero's centrist and boasting image on the show. John Abraham is strong in his role as Jim. In his disguised entry and stunts, he is superb and overshadows the hero.

Deepika Padukone's body is fully on display and used as a cheer-woman dutifully dancing, double-crossing, immorally perfect and made to show her failed chemistry with SRK. She failed to dazzle in the presence of the John-SRK star cast. Her's is the worst performance. Repeatedly twisting his face Pathan looks very ridiculous.

However, Dimple Kapadia is superb in her limited role and lends much-needed support to the shaky story and advance. She over-shadows all other characters. Ashutosh Rana appears very decent and sober as Colonel Luthra. Music and songs are very ordinary or uninviting.

Salman Khan enters very dramatically donning an Islamic scarf. Pathan uses Islamic mannerisms to greet and even Islamic ways to salute. The second half is utterly boring.

The YRF has tried its best to give a great iconic spy story to glorify SRK. Pathan has all the elements of masala banality -- showman, action, fight, dancing-sexy-scantily dressed women and much hyped SRK. It is just like a video game for children, far away from reality. Now his era is on the decline...' for the movie ''Pathaan'' is now live. However, Pathan and SRK have divided cine-goers into religious lines. This is not a good trend for the nation and society.

Media has given tremendous coverage and support to Pathan and SRK.  It has been giving minute-to-minute coverage and commentary of Pathan. It seems that some of the newspapers are just busy with the promotion and propaganda of the movie and SRK. Nowhere in the country, no rush or the signboards of 'House full' seen outside any cinema hall and multiplexes but the earnings kept on rising at a rapid pace. This is a new phenomenon. In a poor and where people have no employment, a poor movie earning 600 crore rupees within six days is unbelievable. However, the movie is another show of Pathan supremacists like My Name is Khan. Pakistan and ISI will be very happy on the box office hit of the movie.
